Coronavirus : How to Spend the Time at Home, Why Meditate and What to Eat

Most people in this world are suffering not from Coronavirus but Coronapanic.

Here is a demonstration -  

The world population at present is 753 crore.

While this article is being written (27th March, 10.30am), the number of people infected by Coronavirus is 5,32,257. [www.worldometers.info]

This means that only 0.0033% people are currently infected by Corona.

A large part of them, almost about 1.5 lakh, have fully recovered and gone back to their regular life. (1,23,332 people exactly)

More than 3.5 lakh people (3,64,206) are suffering from mild illness who will soon gain full recovery.

Because statistics say that 95% people affected by Coronavirus suffers at mild level. [www.worldometers.info]

They recover within 2-3 weeks after the symptoms show. These symptoms include fever, cough, throat pain and slight weakness – that is all really. (Psychology Today, 28th February)

Only 5% among the affected (19635 people currently) undergo critical or terminal condition. They may or may not recover.

But what is their percentage against the current world population? Only 0.000025%.

A lot more people die from road accidents, heart diseases and suicide.

Every year, about twelve lakh and fifty thousand people die in road accidents alone.

In USA alone, around 8lakh people die from heart diseases. (American Heart Association)

And in every four seconds, a suicide is committed in this world. (WHO)

So given the concern we are having about Corona, if a fraction of it existed among us about these other deadlier factors, then we could have saved a lot more people in this world.

How many people get affected by influenza every year?

You might claim that these diseases are no way near Corona. After all, WHO (World Health Organization) has declared it to be a pandemic.

But COVID-19 or the Coronavirus Disease is actually a new version of the flu or influenza virus which was never before observed among humans.

But how many people suffer from the regular flu (that is the seasonal flu which affects at the beginning and ending period of winter season)?

30 to 50 lakh people! (Psychology Today, 28th February)

And we can know this number only because these people had sought medical attention. .

But in most cases, people with moderate influenza don’t even go to doctors (and most people do that). Imagine how high the number would rise if we could take them in account.

 

 

Death rate: Influenza vs Corona

Guess the number of deaths caused by the seasonal influenza every year?

290,000 to 6,50,000 people every year. (Psychology today, 28th February)

It is not that the death rate is higher among the developing or underdeveloped countries only. This death rate includes the developed countries as well.

In 2014-15, 28 thousand people died from influenza in Britain alone. (Public Health England)

In 2016-17, 14 thousand people died from influenza in France. (Institut Pasteur, 6th February, 2020)

In 2017-18, 61 thousand people died from influenza in USA (Centre for Disease Control and Prevention)

But the number of people dying from Corona in these countries in past three months are : Britain – 578, France – 1696 and USA – 1300. (12.04pm, 27th March)

And the total number of deaths from Corona in the world to date is 24, 095. (27th March, 12.40pm, www.worldometers.info)

And a large part of them are old people who have already been suffering from other diseases and medical complications.

 

You will not Die Because You Have Corona

So we can understand that Corona does not kill most people. But it is a very contagious disease and can easily spread.

That is why we need some special awareness:

  • Always carry tissue or handkerchief and use it while sneezing, coughing etc.
  • Wash your hands frequently with soap. It has been observed that washing hands properly greatly reduces the chances of getting infected. Hand wash or sanitizers aren’t mandatory. Any regular soap will do.
  • Maintain three feet distance from others when going out.
  • If you are not infected, you don’t have to use the mask. But if you still want to, then do it in the proper way.
  • If you have any symptoms of fever etc, stay in self quarantine. Use this isolation period as a blessed opportunity in your life for self reflection.

 

Meditation – Which? When?

To boost your immunity and increase positivity, meditate regularly.

At 9.30am, do My Family meditation and at 9pm do Dua Meditation with your family.

Honorable Gurujee also meditates at the above mentioned time. Hence, meditating at these hours together with your family will invigorate you with the power of group meditation.

In addition you can also do meditation as per your wish or your requirement in afternoon and evening.

In every meditation/prayer, pray for safety from Coronavirus and for everyone’s wellbeing. Do not pray for yourself only but for your country and the whole world.

 

How to Utilize the Time –

You can make wonderful use of time during the days the authority or government body asks you to stay home.

  • Wake up early and express gratitude saying, “Thank you God for a beautiful day!”.
  • Muslims recite surah Yunus 40 times after prayer and durood a few times.
  • Hindus can recite Gayatri Mantra 40times, Buddhists recite Buddhist mantras and Christians say prayer as per your religion.
  • Then read the Al Quran Mormobani for a while.

 

Starting Your Day: Breakfast, Exercise and Others

  • Start your day doing something good for people.
  • Eat something light (2/3 dates or raw chickpeas). Then do breathing exercise and yoga. Walk or run inside your own room while making sure that you don’t cause any disturbance to others.
  • Have breakfast with your family. Take a clove of garlic and 25 to 30 seeds of black cumin along with your breakfast. If possible, mix one teaspoon of honey to a glass of lemon water and drink it.

 

A Great Opportunity to Enhance Your Family Bond

- Give quality time to your family.  Play with your children, tell them positive stories, poems and involve them in meaningful discussions. Thus ensure quality time with your children. Practice a healthy positive culture at home.

- As husband or wife, give time and attention to each other. Avoid negative discussions involving past issues. Have constructive and positive discussion regarding your future plans (monchobi) about your family.

- Give attention to your parents or any other older family members in house. Listen to their weal and woe.

- Stay connected to your relatives also. Talk to them and see how they are doing.

- You can build up a reading culture in your house. Reading the Shuddachar book along with your family members will make a very positive impact.

 

Students and Job holders

- Those who are doing home office - do your office work from home with full dedication.

- If you are not, assist your family in household works. Help in cleaning. Your assistance will make you feel much more connected to your family.

- If you are student, continue your regular studies.

 

Eating

- Follow Quantum eating habit or a healthy balanced diet. Instead of processed food, eat fruits and vegetables.

- Drink sufficient water.

- The less you intake fatty or spicy foods, the better for you.

- Eat every meal with all your family members together.

 

 

What You Shouldn’t Do

- Avoid wasting time on TV/internet/social media. Do not watch or hear news every now and then.  Set a fixed schedule, say two to three times a day, when you would spend time on them.

- Do no hear or spread rumor. Instead of panicking, help others to find courage. Read Gurujee’s Letter, listen to his speech, watch videos of Quantum and share among others. Encourage others to watch and read as well.

- To stay safe from calamities, abstain from backbiting, misbehaving, negative talking, and watching and sharing negative pictures, news, videos etc.

 

When giving leave to your workers, pay them advanced salary

Act humane with the people working under you (maid, driver, gardener etc). Help them in this crucial time. If you must give them leave, do so with one month’s salary in advance.

 

If Anyone in Family Gets Infected

Do not avoid or push away any member of your family if they get infected. Do not selfishly avoid your responsibility towards them. Provide the required treatment to him or her.

 

Good News Around the World about Coronavirus

- China has closed down its Corona-hospitals. They no longer have enough patients for those hospitals.

- Wuhan will lift its lockdown from 8th April.  Wuhan is the city from where the virus first started to spread.

- Wuhan did not have any new Corona patient this entire week.   

- It is said that Corona mostly attacks at old age. But news have reported many old people worldwide recovering from it successfully.

- One of them is a 103year old woman from Wuhan who has fully recovered from Corona.

- She had taken admission in Liyuan Hospital with symptoms of fever and heart problem. But she fully recovered on 1st March and was released from hospital.

- Bijan Kumar Shil, a scientist from Bangladesh has invented Corona testing kit.

-The total number of people affected from Corona in Bangladesh is 44 till date, 11 of whom have fully recovered.

 

So let us stop panicking over Corona and bring more awareness among our community.

Let us conquer the fear together.
