What happens when you meditate?

published : 19 October 2021

Meditation is an exercise of the mind.

As you silently work on your mind, it leads to increase in focus, awareness & creativity.

This boosts your positive feelings. As a result, you feel calmer, happier, and discover the path to awaken your inner potentials/inner self.

  1. You consciously relax yourself so that you can reprogram your mind

You relax the most when you fall asleep. But sleep turns off your consciousness, so you cannot make use of this relaxed state to reprogram your mind.

In meditation, you relax your mind and body just as good as if you were asleep, and you also stay awake within yourself. At this state, you can consciously guide your brain and make more use of your creative power.

  1. You bring your mind to the present

Our mind either dwells in the past or worries about the future. It never wants to stay at the present. But life is happening only at the present.

Meditation brings your mind to the present. Thus, your mind stops wasting energy dwelling in anxiety, fear, worry of the past and the future, and focuses the energy instead on boosting your creativity, healing your mind and body, and expanding your consciousness.

  1. You cultivate concentration

Your mind's greatest power is its ability to concentrate.

To concentrate means to focus all your mind's energy completely into the subject.  There is no limit to what pure concentration of a human mind can accomplish.

As you meditate, you cultivate this power, and your concentration keeps getting sharper.

  1. You make more use of your brain

The most complex and mysterious part of the human body is the brain.

It is the brain that has taught man to make fire, to make weapons, to build castles and set foot in outer space.

Everything that man has accomplished in the past, and will accomplish in future - is the result of this brain.

Meditation is the process through which you learn to make use of your brain more and more. There is no limit to how far you can go.

  1. You connect to your inner self

Meditation means to dive within oneself and connect with one's inner self.

When this connection happens, you find the constant flow of peace and harmony within you. You learn to walk the path of discovering yourself. You realize new truths, you reach greater heights.

It is a very long journey that goes only inwards.
