Selim and Sohana lost their will to live after losing their five-year-old daughter, their only child, to a terminal illness.
Sohana was so devastated that she would not talk to anyone or do any kind of work, not even her household chores. She even stopped eating properly.
Then someone advised Selim to take his wife to the meditation course, and a chapter began in their life.
To Selim’s surprise, after attending the very first meditation Sohana herself told him that she was feeling very hungry, that she wanted to eat rice with freshly fried fish.
Sohana had lunch that day and after a long time, the husband and the wife began to have a normal conversation.
Today they are blessed with a beautiful two years old daughter who looks just like her deceased sister. Even their attitudes have remarkable similarities.
Mayarani Debi could not tolerate her knee pain anymore. She lived in a small town and worked as a school teacher. Her school was only a ten minutes rickshaw ride from her house.
Whenever she tried going anywhere, she first had to look for elevated land from where she would be able to get onto a rickshaw.
As the school declared summer vacation that year, a student’s parent almost compelled her to attend the meditation course in Dhaka. She pleaded, “You are suffering so much from this pain. You must go to this course. If Allah wills, you will gain full cure.”
Mayarani Debi was not so sure about it, but she attended the course anyways. Her knee pain was almost gone while in the course.
Interestingly, soon after she even forgot all about finding elevated land and got on to a rickshaw like any other people. While getting down from the rickshaw she suddenly realized that she did not have to take any hassle while getting on.
Tasnim Ashik. A student from Dhaka, his goal was to study in the prestigious engineering school BUET in Bangladesh.
His secondary and higher secondary results were good, and so he was preparing his best to pass BUET admission test.
But on the exam day, unexpected traffic delayed him and he reached the exam hall half an hour late. His dream of studying in BUET was over that day.
And thus his problems started. From despair to depression, Rashik lost all his hope for life.
He came away from the real world and indulged in addiction. He got addicted to the virtual world – the internet. Day and night, he would stay occupied with online games and social media platforms.
Although he was admitted to a private university, he no longer felt any motivation to study.
Then a friend of his brought him to the meditation course. On the first two days of the course, he could not feel anything different. But on the third day, something happened. He suddenly felt that he was wasting his valuable life for nothing.
This realization changed him.
He reorganized his life and started studying.
Ashik is now leading a normal healthy life, completely free of internet addiction. He is about to graduate in a few days.
Sohana, Rashik and Mayarani Debi’s life would perhaps still stay the same had they not come to meditation.
Meditation is a 5000 years old spiritual and psychical process that is now being applied to modern men’s physical and mental well-being.
What is Meditation?
You can define meditation as the scientific process of calming down your mind and getting rid of negative thoughts.
Meditation helps you to cool down your brain so that you can use it more effectively.
It eradicates all the destructive negative thoughts and makes you feel confident, courageous and positive about life.
It takes you to a state where you can claim from your heart – I can, I will. I will build my own life.
Sohana, Rashik and Mayarani Debi are only a few examples of this transformation.
And anyone from anywhere can transform their life, including the children and the aged.
But a common misconception about meditation is that you should meditate only when you have problems or are suffering from illness. But meditation is a matter of practice in daily life. Actually, successful people are the ones who mostly practice meditation.
From successful statesmen to industrialists, entrepreneurs, scientists, even Pentagon Generals meditate.
They don't lack any wealth, fame, or power. Yet they meditate to make more use of their brain, to continue their success and attain peace and happiness.
There is no alternative to meditation in today’s life. To conquer through all the stress, hopelessness, and despair surrounding today’s society and find contentment, meditation is the only way out. From this realization, western countries are now emphasizing meditation.
World renowned universities including MIT, Oxford, Harvard, Yale, Stanford, etc have already started meditation-based happiness curriculum.
Perceiving the need to spread meditation worldwide, 21st May has been declared to be the World Meditation Day by the initiative of Will Williams, a British citizen.
Will Williams had suffered from severe insomnia at a point in his life. He had tried several treatments and methods, but eventually, it was mediation that worked. From then on he had been practicing meditation for a decade.
A meditation-based self-development program, Quantum method, had started its journey three decades ago in 1993 in Bangladesh.
Inspired by the Eastern meditation techniques including Yoga, Vipassana and Muraqaba, Quantum Method had started its journey to bring meditation to every door, irrespective of caste and creed.
A word that was completely unknown to this country; Quantum Foundation is working to make “meditation” a part of the culture of Bangladesh.
For the first time in history!
